RS Regulate, my favorite optic mount maker for the AK platform, introduced their new modular handguard with M-LOK interface for the IWI Galil ACE during the recent Fall 2017 Big 3 East Media event at Daytona Beach, Florida.
Unlike the stock Galil ACE polymer handguard, the RS Regulate upgrade handguard is made from CNC machined aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. All versions of the RS Regulate Galil ACE handguard featuring M-LOK or Keymod slots on the 3, 6 and 9 O’Clock locations.
It feels much better than the stock IWI Galil ACE handguard on hand due to its extended length and much reduced width. Plus, RS Regulate also incorporated a QD sling swivel socket at the front.
View from the shooter’s perspective.
Made from CNC aircraft grade aluminum alloy, the design of RS Regulate handguard allows more air flow under the handguard. Although it does heat up like a typical metal handguard, but it cools down quick enough and adding few M-LOK panels would help too.
Supported in three locations at the front end, the RS Regulate handguard is stronger than the stock Galil ACE polymer handguard, but yet it’s lighter by 3 oz.
RS Regulate will be offering their Galil ACE handguards in both black and the “Wastland” color in a green-ish tan.
The extended version on this .308 version of the IWI Galil ACE. This sample has the Keymod modular interface. RS Regulate will offer both types of modular interfaces. The extended section up front added few more Keymod or M-LOK slots for centerline mounting a short weapon light or other accessories.
Both versions of the RS Regulate handguards will be available soon and the price starts at $225. The three length options are the stock length in 6-in, and the featuring 10-in and 14-in length.
