Armament Technology launched their new Xoptek brand of mini red sight at SHOT Show 2019. The initial production models are made for direct mounting to the ELCAN Specter series, which included the 1x/4x model, the 1.6x/6x model and the fixed 4x model. The retail price is $399 for either the 4-MOA or 6-MOA models.
A close up of the new Xoptek mini red dot sight. The front lens is multi-coated and it’s made from Japanese glass. It’s power source, a CR2032 lithium battery, is replaceable by taking out the battery tray on the right sight without removing the sight from the mount. The battery life is 3 to 5 years and it has a 8-hour auto power off to conserve power.
The Xoptek sight mounts on to of the ELCAN Specter sight with its included mounting plate. However, it will not work on the larger 1/3/9x model and the now discontinued smaller 3x model due to those lacking the two mounting screw holes on the top of their housing.
Quick spec of the Xoptek sight from the back of the retail package. Currently, the Xoptek sight is assembled in China by a Japanese optic company for Armament Technology. Depends on the contract requirement, the production could move to Canada or US if the order volume is large enough. Armament Technology will probably offer other Xoptek models for other optics or pistol slide mounting in the future.
The both version of the Xoptek sights will be available in retail package by itself or as a combo package with the two DR models. The combo deals will have a discount of $200 or half off on the included Xoptek sight. The new Xoptek mini red dot sight will be available on Armament Technology’s website here.
