Barnaul Silver Sport: Barnaul’s new IPSC competition ammo
In the previous news announcement, we found out that Barnaul Ammo will be coming to the US market in 2019. Well, there’s more – Barnaul is about to release their brand new Barnaul Silver Sport competition pistol ammo. Specifically designed and produced by Barnaul Cartridge Plant for IPSC type competition. The Barnaul Silver Sport ammo line will be available in six different bullet weights for 9×19 and .40 S&W calibers, with the possibility of the .45 ACP caliber coming later.
Many responds from the previous news announcement is that Barnaul ammo is already available in the USA. Here’s a picture taken from the Barnaul’s booth at SHOT 2019. You can see that Barnaul is producing ammo for those distributors and sold under their various brands. Now with the new Barnaul branded ammo, what I hope is that their US distributor will bring in some of the Barnaul higher-end products like the soon to be released Barnaul Silver Sport, as well as the Centaur line.
Developed for IPSC style shooting, the Barnaul Silver Sport offers consistent muzzle and low recoil, which allows for quicker follow up shots. Being match grade ammo, it will have good accuracy too. It should have higher quality control than their normal production.
Vitaly Kruchin, the current IPSC president. was also the former president of IPSC Russia. He is known for making music with dueling Glocks:
From the Barnaul Ammo’s social media page that’s probably maintained by MKS Supply in Dayton, Ohio, as of SHOT Show 2019, only the 7.62×39 lacquered steel case and .223 Rem polymer steel case are available, but with the note that more calibers are coming soon in 2019. Hopefully the new Barnaul Silver Sport and the Centaur lines will be available sometime down the road.
